(ZESCO), the Canadian solar player said on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company will develop the Green Giant Zambia project for the utility, involving the provision of electricity to 4 million homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SkyPower Global is billed as the world\u2019s largest developer and owner of utility-scale solar energy projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"396\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/skypower.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/SkyPower-Global-in-1-GHW-deal-with-Zambia-electric-utility-396x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5636\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy leveraging cutting-edge solar technology and our collective expertise, we are set to dramatically transform Zambia\u2019s energy landscape, making it a model for renewable energy development worldwide,\u201d SkyPower Global country manager and special adviser Michael Prest said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will fall under Zambia\u2019s Integrated Renewable Energy Plan, which involves the development of solar, wind and hydropower initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With an IRENA-estimated installed solar capacity of only 124 MW as of end-2023, Zambia will make a leap forward with the 1-GW addition.
