Summary of Position

SkyPower is seeking an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Site Manager who will work under the supervision of the O&M Manager, India. The O&M Site Manager’s duties will include monitoring operations, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC and DC solar PV systems, including inverters, PV module arrays, transformers, switchgear, trackers, and metering systems. This role will be based in India and is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and rapidly growing company.

 

Key Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for regular monitoring and inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance and repair of solar PV systems
  • Periodically review the output and availability and oversee smooth operations of the plant
  • Identifies problems and develops corrective action plans
  • Scheduling and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Work with third-party vendors to support project components (trackers, inverters, balance of plant equipment) installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and perform tracker and mechanical equipment maintenance
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual generation performance and comparison reports and review with Head, O&M
  • Ensure security and upkeep of the installations (including washing of the modules) at the plant
  • Communicate effectively with third-party vendors and actively participate in meeting reviews to provide technical feedback of field operations
  • Respond to emergency calls
  • Ensure that all operations and maintenance activities performed at project sites complies with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) requirements and warranties
  • Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders. Responsible for all required repairs, maintenance, and monitoring of all warranty claims
  • Ensure regular and accurate metering, billing and timely settlements and collections with the state utilities and the consumers; resolve issues related to billing and settlements and escalate to O&M Head, as and when required

 

Qualifications  

  • 3-5 years of experience in the construction and/or O&M of solar energy projects
  • Electrical Engineer or equivalent discipline
  • Experience overseeing utility-scale solar projects greater than 5 MW
  • Keen ability to solve problems that are both technical and practical in nature
  • Ability to use influence and relationship-building skills to mobilize and coordinate the activities of teams in the field
  • Proficiency with industry-related software
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturers’ warranties
  • Energetic, positive, can-do attitude
