International Gulf Development (IGD)

The SkyPower – IGD joint venture targets development and investment in the Egyptian power sector, particularly solar PV power. SkyPower – IGD delivers economically feasible solar-generated electricity by investing in development capital, arranging debt and equity financing and providing turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions.

International Gulf Development (IGD) was formed to execute regionally based power, renewable energy, oil and gas, infrastructure and construction projects throughout the MENA region. IGD is a founding partnership between Al Hamed Enterprises and Gulf Data International (GDI). IGD’s joint partner history allows us to commit, mobilize and successfully deliver turnkey projects.

IGD’s partner companies have successfully executed numerous projects both locally and internationally over the last 25 years and continue to invest in state-of-the-art technology and solutions to ensure IGD is ready for any project our customers and prospects may wish us to execute on their behalf.

SkyPower FAS Energy

In August 2013, SkyPower entered into a joint venture agreement with FAS Energy, a subsidiary of Fawaz Alhokair Group. SkyPower brings 11 years of experience developing utility-scale renewable projects around the world. FAS Energy brings an unprecedented amount of knowledge in real estate and construction from its extensive experience and presence in the MENA region.

FAS Energy is committed to providing renewable energy solutions for the Middle East and North Africa with a focus on developing alternative energy capacity. In affiliation with one of the leading construction companies in the Middle East, FAS Energy advises government associations on how to build industry-leading solar parks. With branches in the MENA region, namely Jordan, Egypt, and Morocco, as well as the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and sister companies in Africa, FAS Energy’s projects include approximately 9,400 MW of pipeline in development.


CSSKY is a joint venture between Canadian Solar Solutions Inc. and SkyPower Global. CSSKY brings clean, stable and economically-feasible solar-generated electricity through the pursuit of PPAs and the development of solar power plants in South Africa.
