With over 30 years of experience negotiating and closing financial deals, Charles Cohen is a seasoned entrepreneur with expertise in real estate development and transactions. As SkyPower’s Chief Commercial Officer, Charles leads the executive team on matters related to corporate strategy, implementation, and execution of multibillion dollar power purchase agreements (PPA). Charles provides expertise for international ventures, from development through to financial close, and assists in forming consortiums to transact business deals.
Charles is also a Strategic Advisor to SkyPower. In this capacity, he interfaces with the President and Chief Executive Officer on high-level affairs and advises the Board of Directors on all aspects of feasibility for SkyPower’s utility-scale solar projects. In addition, Charles is the Chief Executive Officer, Founder and Chairman of TransCash. In 2000, at the onset of the prepaid industry, Charles envisioned a prepaid card that would make money transfer easier and more affordable, especially for the remittance market and the unbanked. In 2009, after seven years of intensive research and development, TransCash launched the TransCash MasterCard® and Visa© Reloadable Prepaid Cards, which received a U.S. Patent and protection worldwide under the “Paris Convention.”
Furthermore, Charles has been involved in several other notable ventures over the span of his career. In 1986, Charles created the global marketing and communications company, Pier Enterprises, Inc. in Los Angeles, California. Here he launched large international advertising campaigns, such as Ebel with Madonna, Meg Ryan and Harrison Ford, and the music platform for Pepsi International that featured Sony Music’s greatest recording artists. With over 25 GW of solar projects in various stages of development, SkyPower has become the global leader in solar energy. Mr. David Thompson is Principal and Chief Financial Officer at CIM Group and the Chief Executive Officer of CIM Commercial Trust Corporation. Mr. Thompson is responsible for overseeing all areas of Finance and Capital Markets within CIM and serves on the Investment Committee. Prior to joining CIM in 2009, he spent fifteen years with Hilton Hotels Corporation, most recently as Senior Vice President and Controller, where he was responsible for worldwide financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, risk management, internal control and technical accounting compliance. Mr. Thompson tenure at Hilton included both SEC compliance as a public company and reporting as a private equity portfolio company. His experience includes multi-billion dollar real estate acquisitions and dispositions in the hospitality, gaming and timeshare sectors, as well as significant capital markets experience. Mr. Shemesh, Co-Founder and a Principal of CIM, has been an active real estate investor for over 23 years. Financier, innovator and founder of multiple high-tech start-ups, Rene Pardo’s personal initiatives have triggered well over $75 million of research and development.
As an innovator himself, in 1969 Rene co-invented the world’s first electronic spreadsheet. The spreadsheet software was used by AT&T and the plant budgeting operations of all 18 U.S. telephone companies, Bell Canada nationwide and General Motors in Michigan. A pioneer in human-computer user interfaces, Rene co-invented and developed the first online educational multimedia game, developed the first online conference registration system and created the first artistic computer animation with Norman McLaren at the National Film Board.
In the 70s and 80s, as the founder of Lanpar Technologies, Rene spearheaded the development, manufacturing, and distribution of proprietary computer software and hardware. This publicly traded company was one of the industry leaders for over 10 years.
In the early 2000’s, Rene moved into the Green sector, bringing together world- leading scientists who invented and developed one of the world’s most advanced energy storage technologies (acquired by Axion Power). He then co-launched Mobile Cube, a portable solar- and wind-powered system producing clean drinking water and electricity for emerging nations. As well, he financed and introduced the world’s first area lighting LED light bulbs and fluorescent tube lighting LED replacement.
Currently, as CEO of Brainwave Research Corporation, he focuses on innovation, patents, licensing and distribution of proprietary electrical products. Rene is a graduate of McGill University (B.Sc.) and Harvard Graduate School of Education (M.Ed.). His passion for advanced and disruptive technologies has recently led him to 3D printing, drones, satellites, and virtual reality applications. Matthew is a national and international indigenous leader and advocate for the aboriginal, treaty and other human rights of indigenous peoples in Canada and internationally. His election in July 2011 to the office of Grand Chief of the James Bay Cree Nation of Eeyou Istchee and Chairperson of the Cree Regional Authority is his sixth re-election to those positions. Matthew was first elected as Grand Chief of the Grand Council of the Crees and Chairman of the Cree Regional Authority in 1987, and served for five terms of office. He was former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, the national organization of First Nations in Canada, from 2000 to 2003. He became known throughout Canada for his efforts to end the federal policy of extinguishment of aboriginal peoples’ human rights of self determination.
In 1998, Trent University granted Matthew the degree of Doctor of Laws Honoris Causa in recognition of the significance of his work, and in 2000, the University of Toronto also awarded him an honorary Doctor of Laws. He also received the National Aboriginal Achievement Award in 1995.
Born in 1956 on his parent’s Mistissini Trapline, Matthew was soon recognized by the elders as a natural leader. He was asked to be coordinator for all the inland Cree communities for the negotiations with Canada that enabled the James Bay Crees to escape the Indian Act and achieve the first ever aboriginal self-government legislation in Canada, the Cree-Naskapi (of Québec) Act. At the start of his political career, Matthew served two terms as Chief of the Mistissini First Nation. By the time he left to work with his father on his trapline, his community had a new arena, an adult education centre, a bank, new administrative offices, new health facilities, and major improvements to its housing and community infrastructure.
He went on to become Executive Director of the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee). He was directly involved in the Grand Council’s successful effort to gain consultative status at the United Nations, and supported the Grand Council’s use of its international status to being issues vital to all of the world’s indigenous peoples before the international community.

Jeffrey Graham is Senior Vice President, Global Head of Legal and Regulatory Compliance at SkyPower. Jeffrey is involved in all aspects of the company’s development, operations, financing, and merger and acquisition (M&A) pursuits, with a focus on legal and compliance activities.
Jeff joined SkyPower from Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, Canada’s largest national law firm, where he led financial services regulatory and technology practices of the firm. Earlier in his career, he practiced corporate law with Blake Cassels in Toronto and Hogan Lovells in Washington D.C. Over the course of his career in private practice, Jeff has acted for both SMEs and major domestic and international corporations in complex financial and commercial transactions, including transactions involving alternative energy technologies.
Jeffrey holds B.Comm. (Honours Economics), BCL and LLB degrees from McGill University and LLM degrees from Cambridge and Columbia Universities. Jeffrey is a member of the Bars of Ontario and the District of Columbia. He was previously a member of the Bar of Quebec.

Imtiaz Mahtab is the Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) Regions. The incumbent President of the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA), Imtiaz brings more than 20 years of experience in executive leadership roles in the energy, renewable energy and high-technology sectors to his role at SkyPower.
As MESIA’s President, Imtiaz works with regulators and over 150 local and international members from all segments of the solar value chain to facilitate the deployment of solar in the region.
Imtiaz comes to SkyPower from Air Liquide, the world’s largest industrial gas company. From 2011 to 2016, he served on the company’s Middle East and Africa Executive Management Team where, as Regional Managing Director for the MENA region, Imtiaz established and managed Air Liquide’s businesses in over 10 countries, completed over US $400 million dollars of investments in the energy, renewable energy and high-tech sectors, and managed over 30 industrial sites that employed 600 people.
The Harvard Business School (HBS) graduate occupied several worldwide leadership positions during his 20 years with the French multinational. In 10 years of P&L management at Air Liquide, Imtiaz significantly increased the company’s market cap by growing the various businesses under his management by several multiples while restructuring them globally. To date, Imtiaz has developed over US $1.1 billion worth of investment projects on a build, own and operate (BOO) basis, including power projects, and has concluded mergers and acquisitions projects totalling over US $880 million. A corporate restructuring program that Imtiaz developed and spearheaded at Air Liquide generated over US $1 billion in cash and a 200 basis point overall operating margin improvement for the company, reducing its group cost base and capital needs by 10 and 15 percent respectively.
Currently based in Dubai, Imtiaz has lived and worked on four continents. He speaks five languages, and is proficient in English, French, Japanese, Hindi and Bengali. Imtiaz is a founding member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Club for the MENA region and has sat on the advisory boards of various regional renewable energy and high-tech start-ups.

Hando Kang has joined SkyPower’s executive team as Vice-President, Global Affairs. In this role, Hando will be leveraging his experience and knowledge in the Canadian and global renewable energy sector to further accelerate SkyPower’s exponential growth. Kristin Sarria is an experienced accounting professional with over 10 years of experience focused on auditing, budget analysis, business strategy, financial accounting, financial reporting and risk management.
As Vice President, Accounting and Global Controller at SkyPower, Kristin is responsible for the full accounting cycle of the Company’s corporate consolidated group of companies (North American and international) including the areas of accounting, finance/investor relations, taxation, and treasury management.
Prior to joining SkyPower, Kristin served as the Group Controller and Manager of Financial Reporting at AutoCanada Inc. where she provided accounting support and oversaw the financial reporting process for a large, consolidated group of automotive dealerships in Canada. Previously, Kristin was also a Senior Accountant for KPMG Canada Inc.
Kristin is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction and Accounting Major, Cooperative Education from the University of Alberta.

Previously, Robert held the office of CFO and Vice President of Shared Services at Mayhew, a leading workspace design solution organization and dealer for Steelcase. Under Robert’s leadership, Mayhew received ISO 9001 accreditation and was named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies. Robert was CFO at MDG, the largest private label PC company in Canada, where he established a Financing division, and Senior Vice President of Finance and Worldwide Operations at Webhelp Worldwide Inc., which was named Canada’s Hottest Start-up by Profit Magazine in 2002. Prior to Webhelp, Robert held the position Vice President of Finance and Operations at SITEL Corporation.
A chartered accountant, Robert holds a CPA, CA and a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Concordia University.

Navid Seifkar is an engineering professional with nearly 20 years of experience in a wide range of renewable energy conversion systems, development, negotiation, management and execution of industrial and research projects. As Vice President, Technology Strategy at SkyPower, Navid evaluates renewable energy technologies, building key relationships with suppliers, and responsible for advising the Company’s senior executive and technical teams on advancements in solar technology.
Prior to joining SkyPower, Navid served as Research Engineer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for Energy Initiatives, where he helped conduct studies on solar technologies and collaborated with global energy companies and the U.S. Department of Energy on process engineering and techno-economic evaluations of various energy conversion systems. Previously, Navid was a Process Engineer at Hatch, on the application and design of various energy conversion facilities.

Jason Kenney during his term as the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration & Multiculturalism. In this capacity, Maria fostered relationships with representatives of diverse Canadian communities. Prior to her assignment with the Federal Government of Canada, she held the office of Vice President of Business Development at Ethnic Channels Group (ECG), the largest television broadcasting company specializing in multicultural television channels in North America, as well as in Toronto and Development Director of Russian Children’s Welfare Society (RCWS) in New York.
Maria holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Education and Linguistics from Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Arkhangelsk, Russia. Director, Corporate Communications and Integration
Misia Jakubowski has nearly 10 years of experience in strategic mass media communications, business development, and project management in the renewables, mining and technology sectors.
As Director, Corporate Communications and Integration at SkyPower, Misia is responsible for overseeing and leading the global communications and integrative team strategies for the Company. Misia’s responsibilities include internal and external consistent and on-brand messaging, reputation management, media relations, market entry awareness, social and digital campaigns as well as highlighting SkyPower’s achievements and upcoming projects.
Prior to SkyPower, Misia served as Project Manager for the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) on the revised market risk capital framework initiative, ‘Fundamental Review of the Trading Book’ (FRTB) as well as Broadcast Media Coordinator for the London 2012 Olympics for the Host Broadcaster (OBS) with active oversight of several key Olympics venues.
Previously, Misia developed media campaigns for various mining companies as well as worked on the production team for the technology series ‘Get Connected TV’ filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia. Misia holds duel degrees from Western University in History and Psychology.
